The Johns Creek, Ga.-based less-than-truckload (LTL) operator and logistics provider is planning on opening an additional four to five terminals in the Northeast in 2018.
Saia, Inc., which provides less-than-truckload, non-asset truckload and logistics services, revealed this week that its Saia LTL Freight subsidiary opened a new terminal in Bethlehem, Pa.
The new terminal is the sixth facility the company has opened in the Northeastern market in the last eight months, the other five being in Harrisburg, Pa.; Philadelphia, Pa.; Pittsburg, Pa.; Newark, N.J.; and Laurel, Md.
Looking ahead, Saia plans on opening an additional four to five terminals in the Northeast in 2018.
Saia also plans to invest in markets already being serviced by the company to support growth. “While we’ll continue to expand in the Northeast, we’ll also be growing other parts of our network where larger or multiple terminals will give us enhanced service capability and market share opportunities,” Saia Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer Ray Ramu said.
Based out of Johns Creek, Ga., Saia operates 154 terminals in 40 states, employing over 9,500 people nationwide.
