SC Line facilitates trade between U.S., Cuba

The Florida based shipping company announced it now offers a direct connections between Port Everglades and Mariel and Santiago de Cuba.

   SC Line will now offer a service with direct connections between Port Everglades, Fla. and Mariel and Santiago de Cuba, Cuba.
   The motor carrier Caroline Russ berthed at Mariel earlier this week, which represents the first commercial voyage from the United States to Cuba since the U.S. began easing sanctions and restrictions on business that can be done with the Caribbean island nation in January.
   The new service will call Cuba every 14 days.
   “SC Line will be a strong and reliable partner for both countries with a main goal: to strengthen and enrich relations between Cuba and the United States of America,” the company said in a statement.
   Based out of Florida, SC Line handles roll-on/roll-off cargo, static cargo and breakbulk or containerized cargo (including reefers).
