Rates from Shanghai to North Europe fell 6 percent since last Friday to $858 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerized Freight Index.
The Shanghai Shipping Exchange’s Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI) fell 6.3 percent from last Friday’s reading of 886.26 to a reading of 830.46.
Rates from Shanghai to North Europe dropped 6 percent since last Friday, from $913 per TEU to $858 per TEU, while rates from Shanghai to the Mediterranean slipped 3.7 percent, from $876 per TEU to $844 per TEU.
Meanwhile, rates from Shanghai to the U.S. West Coast tumbled 9.8 percent since last Friday, from $1,964 per FEU to $1,771 per FEU, while rates from Shanghai to the U.S. East Coast fell 7 percent, from $3,456 per FEU to $3,214 per FEU.
