The Shanghai Shipping Exchange’s Shanghai Containerized Freight Index fell 1.8 percent from last Friday’s reading of 830.46 to a reading of 815.10.

Since last week, rates from Shanghai to Europe rose 7.3 percent, from $858 per TEU to $921 per TEU, while rates from Shanghai to the Mediterranean jumped 4.5 percent, from $844 per TEU to $882 per TEU.
Meanwhile, rates from Shanghai to the U.S. West Coast tumbled 6.8 percent since last week, from $1,771 per FEU to $1,650 per FEU, while rates from Shanghai to the U.S. East Coast fell 4.9 percent, from $3,214 per FEU to $3,055 per FEU.
