Schenker opens branch office in Chongqing

   International forwarding and logistics company Schenker has opened a branch office in Chongqing in China’s Sichuan province, following approval from the country’s government.

   Chongqing is one of the world’s largest cities with a population of more than 30 million and has emerged as an important center of China’s automotive, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and growing semiconductor industries in recent years.

   Schenker first moved into China in 1979 and following the opening of the Chongqing office, the company has 36 offices located in 26 cities all over the country.

   Schenker is a part of DB Logistics, the transportation and logistics division of German state-owned Deutsche Bahn.
