Schiphol Cargo names Ritsema top strategist

Schiphol Cargo, the cargo management arm of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, has appointed Hendriena Ritsema to director of strategic development.
She succeeds Harry Tomesen, who retired after 30 years with the airport.
Ritsema will be responsible for cargo aspects of the Dutch airport’s long-term development program, Schiphol SmartGate, and the development of the cargo area at Schiphol Southeast.
Before joining Schiphol Cargo, Ritsema held posts at KLM Revenue Management, Schiphol ICT (responsible for the airport’s various automated systems, such as gate management and flight data), and the airport’s baggage department.
Amsterdam is ranked the third largest cargo airport in Europe, handling 1.5 million tons of freight in 2011. The airport currently serves 106 scheduled airlines and 22 scheduled freighter operators.
