Schneider National revenue tops $3.5 billion

Schneider National, the largest for-hire heavy freight trucking company in the United States, said revenue grew to $3.5 billion in 2005 from $3.2 billion the previous year.

Green Bay, Wis.-based Schneider said the results include 30 percent revenue growth for its Schneider Logistics division.

Schneider is privately held and is not required to release profit earnings and balance sheet information.

The company is known for its long-haul truckload business, but is a diversified transportation company with less-than-truckload, intermodal, hazmat, flatbed and other services. Last year, Schneider acquired American Port Services, which provides port drayage service, as well as deconsolidation and warehousing.
