SDV to build additional warehouse at Port of Le Havre

The third-party logistics provider signed a preliminary agreement with HAROPA to construct a 36,000-square meter warehouse at the Port of Le Havre.

SDV, a subsidiary of Bolloré Logistics, has signed a preliminary agreement with HAROPA, a consortium which consists of the Port of Rouen, Port of Paris and Port of Le Havre, to construct a 36,000-square meter warehouse at the Port of Le Havre in northern France.
The new warehouse, which will be located at the Parc Logistique du Pont de Normandie 2 (PLPN2), adjacent to the new multi-modal terminal at the port, is scheduled to open Oct. 2016.
The first phase of construction involves 24,000 square meters of surface area, followed by the second phase, which will create an additional 12,000 square meters of surface area.
SDV already operates several warehouses in the PLPN1 zone. Once the new warehouse at the PLPN2 is completed, SDV will occupy a total surface area of 75,000 square meters for its transport and logistics activities at the Port of Le Havre.
The new warehouse will provide dry good storage, which will allow SDV to redevelop a 5,000 square meter area it currently occupies at the PLPN1 zone into a reefer logistics area.
“This new project is an integral part of our growth strategy for major global hubs. We are rolling out innovative and efficient logistics tools within these hubs, which are in line with the latest quality standards,” SDV Chairman Thierry Ehrenbogen said in a statement. “The strengthening of our positions in the main international trading hubs, along with a competitive services offering, enables us to attract greater flows and manage the logistics and supply chain activities of our customers. Other major projects are currently underway in France and abroad.”
