Sea Star adjusts intermodal charges
Sea Star Line will adjust its intermodal fuel charge effective September in response to continuing increases in fuel prices.
Sea Star completed a review of diesel oil prices for a six-week period ending August 7 and the corresponding payments made to intermodal service providers. Based on that review, it plans an increase in the intermodal surcharge.
The charge varies depending on the location of a shipper throughout the U.S., but in Florida the charges are based on location in one of three zones. For loads moving in the Jacksonville zone, the charge will increase from $31 to $40. For the Port Everglades zone, the charge will increase from $41 to $45. For the rest of Florida, the intermodal charge will increase from $105 to $110.
