Sea Star adjusts longer-distance intermodal charges
Sea Star Line said it will increase its intermodal fuel charge for overland moves between its Florida ports and other states, but will leave its in-state intermodal charges unchanged.
Seas Star said its review of costs for overland movements of containers over a four-week period ending Jan. 21 will lead to changes from various inland points. The new charges take effect Feb. 17 for Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands trade, and on March 2 for the Eastern Caribbean.
In Florida, the intermodal charge will stay at $53 for drayage in the local zones for Jacksonville and Port Everglades, and will remain at $145 for move from other points within Florida to the two ports.
