Sea Star now offering cargo discharge tracking
Sea Star Line said Wednesday it has released its Discharge Sequence tracking application, which allows customers to go online and determine when shipments will be unloaded and available.
The new technology is available at all of Sea Star's U.S. and Puerto Rico ports.
With Discharge Sequence, customers or the designated representatives will have direct access to a shipment's stowage location and its scheduled discharge time. Sea Star said that capability will allow customers and their ground transportation providers to plan more effectively and operate more efficiently.
'This great new functionality benefits everyone involved,' said Carl Fox, Sea Star's vice president of customer service, intermodal, and information technology. 'Customers, truckers, and terminals all benefit from the increased efficiency and related reduction in congestion. It's convenient, simple, and available for both containers and roll-on/roll-off shipments.
'This new functionality is the most recent upgrade to our online service capabilities,' Fox added. 'We've listened closely to the needs of our customers, and have more improvements on the way.'
Sea Star provides service between San Juan ,the Port of Jacksonville and Port Everglades.
