Effective Aug. 23, Miami-based ocean carrier Seaboard Marine will begin offering two weekly sailings to Costa Rica, with the first providing three-day transit to Puerto Limon, departing from PortMiami each Wednesday with cargo availability Monday mornings.

Miami-based container carrier Seaboard Marine is enhancing its Miami – South Central America loop later this month by offering service to Puerto Limon, Costa Rica, the company has announced.
Effective Aug. 23, Seaboard Marine will begin offering two weekly sailings to Costa Rica, with the first providing three-day transit to Puerto Limon, departing from PortMiami each Wednesday with cargo availability Monday mornings.
Additionally, Seaboard Marine will continue to offer a second weekly sailing with three-day transit, departing PortMiami each Friday with cargo availability Tuesday mornings in Puerto Limon.
“Seaboard Marine will now have the fastest transit times in the region with the most frequent sailings,” company Vice President of Central America Jose Concepcion said in a statement. “The expansion of this service provides our valued customers in Costa Rica additional opportunities to improve their supply chain performance. Further, as an added plus, our northbound transit from Manzanillo, Panama has been reduced to a fast three day transit to PortMiami.”
News of the new Costa Rica sailing comes just weeks after Seaboard Marine announced that it was launching a new service between PortMiami, Ecuador, and two cities in Peru beginning Aug. 11.
The new weekly service is supported by three dedicated vessels providing direct service through the Panama Canal to and from Ecuador and Peru.
