Ocean carriers look to launch their new joint service between the United States East Coast, Central America and South America in late June or early July.
Ocean carrier’s SeaLand and APL will offer a new weekly service between Central and South America and the United States East Coast.
The service will operate with three ships, two from SeaLand and one from APL, with an average capacity of about 1,700 TEUs. The full port rotation will be Cartagena, Columbia- Manzanillo, Panama – a yet to be named port in South Florida – New York – Philadelphia – Savannah – South Florida-Cartegena.
The companies said the service will offer fast transit times and special attention to shippers of refrigerated cargo.
The vessel sharing agreement between SeaLand and APL is subject to regulatory approval, and the companies said they will provide additional details after approval.
The service is expected to begin in late June or early July 2015.
