SEATRADE REEFER TO START EUROPE/CUBA LINER SERVICE

SEATRADE REEFER TO START EUROPE/CUBA LINER SERVICE

Antwerp-based Seatrade Reefer Chartering N.V. is
launching a 10-day liner service from Sheerness and Rotterdam to Havana, Cuba.
The service, which starts next week, has a frequency of 10 days, with a
28-day roundtrip.
Seatrade has gained a reefer contract to move palletized Cuban citrus,
mainly oranges and grapefruit, eastbound. The shipping line is also looking for breakbulk
and containerized shipments westbound.
A spokesman for Seatrade said that calls may also be made at other ports in
the Caribbean. The contract is for the current citrus season, probably through next May.
"There is plenty of European cargo moving to Cuba at present — the
Cubans have to bring things in just to live," a spokesman for Seatrade said.
