Yusen Logistics will manage all inbound, storage, picking and value-added activities
In a decision to improve cost efficiencies, Seiko UK, a wholly owned subsidiary of Seiko Watch Corporation of Tokyo, has recently partnered with Yusen Logistics to support its U.K. operation.
Yusen Logistics will manage all inbound, storage, picking and value-added activities from the Maidenhead site, where Seiko UK has been based since 1985. Working closely together, the supply chain has been reengineered, including the successful implementation of a new warehouse management system capable of processing both retail and e-commerce deliveries, offering further service level improvements for Seiko UK’s customers.
“We need the reliability and experience of a logistics partner that understands our market to ensure that excellent service is continued,” said Kinya Iwami, managing director for Seiko UK. “Yusen Logistics offers us the high levels of expertise with outstanding quality and attention to detail, with a commitment to demonstrable continuous improvement that allows us to further focus on our core business.”
Nick Rees, commercial director for Yusen Logistics U.K., said, “We believe that we can add real value to Seiko UK’s warehousing operations, with a focus on continuous improvement driven by our kaizen culture. We are now looking forward to a long-lasting partnership with Seiko UK built on precision, quality and excellence.”
