SEKO opens Qatar office

Global logistics network SEKO said Friday it has opened a new branch in Qatar near the Doha International Airport and seaport.

“The Qatar trade zone is an attractive location for businesses as it has become a modern high-growth logistics hub, with many large-scale real estate projects underway, as well as a great deal of investment in technology, education and transportation infrastructure,” SEKO said in a statement. “Additionally, the largest project to ever take place in Qatar, the new town of Lusail, is currently under construction and expected to be completed in 2010.

“SEKO Qatar owns multiple SEKO-logoed vehicles for local deliveries and for use by operational staff. The office also plans to open a brand new warehouse facility in the Qatar industrial area with warehouse management services by the end of 2008.'

Vinod Balakrishna Pillai will be general manager and working partner for the office, and will oversee a staff of 12.
