Shipco starts weekly Dubai/New York service
Neutral non-vessel-operating common carrier Shipco Transport has started a weekly transatlantic less-than-containerload service from the Middle East ports of Dubai, Bahrain, Doha and Kuwait to the United States via New York.
The NVO said the cargo will travel intact directly from a Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism compliant partner in Dubai to New York with liner carrier Maersk Line.
For the service, Shipco has specifically partnered with Consolidated Shipping Services in Dubai and will use the company's 200,000-square-foot warehouse in the Jebel Ali Free Zone. Consolidated Shipping Services was created in 1995 and has rapidly become one of the largest NVOs in the United Arab Emirates.
'The new direct service builds on Shipco's more than 200 existing direct consolidation services from global origins to North America,' Shipco said in a statement.
