Non-vessel-operating common carrier Shipco Transport has introduced an all-water less-than-containerload direct service from Los Angeles to Milan, Italy, offering what it says is a dependable alternative to intermodal delays.

“With ongoing rail delays moving cargo across the country to meet up for consolidation in New York, we feel this service will provide the utmost in transit time and reliability for our customers”, said Gary Osterbach, Shipco's general manager in Los Angeles, in a statement.

The addition of this service brings the number of direct services Shipco offers from North America to overseas destinations to 211.

Shipco is a subsidiary of Scan-Group, an international shipping and transportation company headquartered in Copenhagen, with more than 1,500 employees in own offices worldwide.
