Singapore Airlines Cargo adds Hanoi, Vietnam to network
Singapore Airlines Cargo (SIA Cargo) today started a weekly Boeing 747-400 freighter service to the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi.
The service departs every Thursday from Singapore at 20:25, arriving two hours later in Hanoi. The service then departs the Vietnam airport at 23:55 before arriving back at Singapore on Friday at 11:30 after an early morning stop at Shanghai.
“Vietnam is one of the fastest growing economies in East Asia,” said Goh Choon Phong, president of SIA Cargo. “This new freighter service together with the eight-times-weekly passenger services, will boost the growing freight business links between Vietnam and its key exports markets in Europe, the U.S., China and South East Asia.”
Vietnam's top export items are crude oil, textile, footwear, coffee and wooden products, while the country imports machine tools, petroleum, steel, fabrics and electronics, the airline said.
SIA Cargo operates a fleet of 14 B747-400s on a route network that now spans 74 cities in 39 countries
