Sinomarine Livestock Shipping plans to launch two cattle, sheep carriers

The two ships will primarily transport cattle and sheep from Australia, New Zealand and the United States to China, according to The West Australian.

   China-based Sinomarine Livestock Shipping Company is reportedly planning to launch two bulk carrier ships that have been converted into vessels designed for transporting live cattle and sheep to China.
   The ships “have capacity for up to 5,500 cattle and 18,000 sheep, and will primarily
service ports in Australia, New Zealand and the United States,” The West Australian reported.
   The newspaper added the “Australian Livestock Exporters’ Council believes the Chinese market could underpin a million-head trade to Asia.”
