SoCalÆs largest electrical supply DC switches to Cadre system
Third-party logistics software provider Cadre Technologies last week announced a deal to provide a warehouse managements system to the owners of Southern California's largest distribution warehouse for the electrical industry.
Walters Wholesale Electric Co., founded in 1953, operates a chain of 20 electrical supply storefronts throughout Southern California. The stores are fed from the firm's 150,000-square-foot distribution center in Brea. Under the new deal, Cadre will install a complete warehouse logistics system based on its Cadence software into the Walters' distribution center. The system will allow Walters to convert from a traditional pick-and-pack method to a comprehensive warehouse management system.
'Our customer base and services have expanded in recent years, and we were ready to change how we managed our picking and staging,' explained Ron Byrd, Walters' director of operations. 'After more than two years of research, the Cadence fulfillment system rose to the top because they listened to our unique needs and offered us creative ideas for reaching our goals.'
According to the Denver, Colo.-based Cadre, the Cadence software integrates all aspects of load filling into one streamlined logistics product. The software provides Web-based inventory visibility, order management and real-time tracking.
Financial details of the deal were not released.
