South Carolina: Sweet smell of success
An Italian company that distributes high-end fragrance containers and tableware products to U.S. and Canadian retailers is planning to locate its only U.S. warehouse and distribution facility in Barnwell, S.C.
The South Carolina Department of Commerce and Barnwell County said Luigi Bormioli Corp. will invest $3.25 million to build a facility that will create 20 new jobs.
Marcel Trepanier, president of Luigi Bormioli, said the company expects to double business in the next three to four years.
The warehouse will be located in the Barnwell County Airport Industrial Park. Officials said the state’s infrastructure, including the Port of Charleston, helped attract the warehouse.
