Spanish port operator starts inland rail service

TCV Railway, the rail freight operator that forms part of Grup TCB, said Monday it will start a container service between the Port of Valencia and Miranda de Ebro, in the Spanish province of Burgos, from Nov. 23.
“The new trade route is an extension of the already consolidated TCV Railway services between Valencia port and the center of Spain,” the operator said. “With this new route, the company expands its area of operations to the north of the Iberian Peninsula, thus responding to the needs of importers and exporters operating in the Port of Valencia.”
Warehouse and haulage services in Miranda de Ebro will also be offered. The service will initially be offered weekly in both directions, but TCS said it will gauge market demand to see if more frequency is required. – Eric Johnson
