SSA Global acquires Arzoon
SSA Global, a Chicago-based information technology company that provides enterprise resource planning systems, has acquired supply-chain execution software provider Arzoon.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Arzoon, founded in 1999 at the height of the dot-com fever, is the latest logistics IT company to give in to the consolidation trend in the business. Its purchase follows the takeovers of Qiva, Celarix, CarrierPoint, Logistics.com, ClearCross and others.
“The combination of SSA Global and the supply chain execution functionality from Arzoon is a natural fit,” said Mike Greenough, president, chairman and chief executive officer of SSA Global. “We share several customers in the manufacturing sector, including companies in the high-technology, consumer packaged goods, logistics and transportation industries.”
Arzoon’s supply chain execution systems, used to increase supply chain velocity and performance, will complement SSA Global’s supply chain management offering.
SSA Global will initially focus on integrating Arzoon into its “SSA transportation management” supply chain management offering. SSA Global said that, by combining Arzoon’s functionality with its transportation management and warehouse management systems, the company will deliver supply chain services that can help companies move products globally with the lowest total landed cost, while providing visibility into their supply chain
SSA Global has 121 locations worldwide and more than 13,000 customers use its products.
