St. Lawrence Shipoperators picks new chairman

The St. Lawrence Shipoperators (SLS) board has elected Daniel Bélisle to chairman.
Bélisle, senior vice president of Oceanex, replaces Carole Campeau, who served as SLS chairman in 2006-2008 and 2011-2012.
Since 1979, Bélisle has held various management positions in the marine industry, including associate general manager for CP Ships, vice president of finance for Terminus Racine (Montreal) Ltd., and vice president of marketing for Canada Maritime Agencies. In October 2002, he joined Oceanex.
He also sits on the board of the Maritime Employers Association and the Canadian Shipowners Mutual Assurance Association and is a member of the Standard Compensation Act Liability Association’s Finance Committee.
SLS has 14 carrier members, representing a fleet of nearly 120 Canadian-flagged vessels, and more than 80 associate members, who provide services to domestic ship operators.
