Stockton becomes powdered milk depot for U.S. food-aid programs
The Northern California Port of Stockton has recently become a prepositioning site for powdered milk to be used for U.S. government international food-aid programs.
As many as 50 million pounds of the commodity will be stored at three warehouses on the port’s Rough and Ready Island terminal. Transhold manages the warehouses.
The powdered milk will be used for food programs in Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Bangladesh and the Philippines.
