Business-to-business communication platform Surefront has introduced an end-to-end product lifecycle management (PLM) platform to help streamline product development and reduce carbon footprints.
The PLM allows developers to navigate product development, from concept through ready-to-market stages, from a single location even if all the parties are not in that location. The platform collects and displays product data, communications and visuals in a cloud-based environment, eliminating the need to ship or travel with samples to share with development and buying partners.
The product was introduced this week at the National Retail Federation’s Converge virtual trade show.
Companies typically use a PLM to build products, allowing collaboration among stakeholders and departments. Surefront’s PLM platform expands that traditional approach to bring in outside contributors, whether that is contractors, factories, designers, brands or retailers.
The company said its approach to PLM allows the management of that product through the entire process, integrating design, manufacturing and sales into a single platform. This patented, built-in collaboration feature allows the product designer and its external product development partners (i.e., factories and buyers) to collaborate on a single product for all product details such as actual design, product specifications, bill of material costs and tech packs, the company explained.
Surefront also offers suppliers a SmartCatalog. The tool connects a digital catalog with a traditional customer resource management system to enhance communication with customers and product displays. It includes an interactive quote tool and accelerates the purchase order process by removing redundant processes and unnecessary revisions.
