Swiss WorldCargo, the air freight division of Swiss International Air Lines Ltd., has entered an agreement with va-Q-tec to provide cold-chain services for its global network.
“va-Q-tec has been requested by pharma customers to establish a partnership with Swiss WorldCargo to enable direct container rentals,” said Dominic Hyde, managing director of va-Q-tec, in a statement.
“Many pharma shippers and forwarders see the cargo division of SWISS as a strategic partner for reliably transporting pharmaceuticals and they want the simplicity of ordering the va-Q-tainer containers through the airline directly,” he added.
va-Q-tec offers five sizes of containers, with the largest taking up to two pallets positions, and provides shippers temperature ranges from -70°C to +25°C. Through its “Load & Go” rental service, va-Q-tec will offer its containers on one-way rentals over five days or more on Swiss International flights.
The Swiss WorldCargo and va-Q-tec service will be available worldwide starting in June.
