SWISSAIR PARENT TO SELL DELTA SHARES
SAirGroup, the parent company to Swissair, said it will sell its
minority stake in Delta Air Lines in light of Delta’s alliance agreement
with Air France.
Swissair says its alliance with Delta, called Atlantic Excellence and
including Belgian carrier Sabena and Austrian Airlines, will remain in
effect.
But SAir’s decision to unload its Delta shares comes on the heels of
Tuesday’s announcement by Swissair that it has signed a code-share
agreement with American Airlines.
Delta and American are major competitors, as are Swissair and Air France.
