Swissport offers mobile tracking

Swissport International, a global provider of air cargo handling, now provides its customers and other partners with a track-and-trace service for mobile devices.
Built on Swissport’s Freightfinder, a track-and-trace service that has been available on the Web, the new mobile version will allow customers to check the status of shipments from smartphones and tablets. The company said its mobile service supports Android devices, BlackBerrys, iPhones, and iPads.
Unlike similar offerings from competitors, the Freightfinder mobile service is a Web app. Users go to Swissport’s mobile Website and from there add an icon to their mobile device. While the icon looks like an app, it is simply a shortcut to get users directly to Swissport’s mobile Website and service.
Swissport International manages about 3.2 million tons of cargo a year for 650 clients and facilitated by 98 warehouses across 36 countries.
