TACA RAISES PACIFIC NORTHWEST CHARGE FOR WESTBOUND SHIPMENTS

    The Trans-Atlantic Conference Agreement is increasing its U.S.
Pacific Northwest surcharges for all westbound shipments moved to or via the ports of
Seattle and Tacoma.
    From Aug. 1, the surcharge will rise to $440 per 20-foot container,
from $320. The charge per 40-footer will go up to $550, from $450.
    The increase applies to both direct and intermodal shipments.
    The eastbound Pacific Northwest surcharges remain unchanged.
