Container terminals will cease ingate operations and remain closed through Tuesday morning.

The port’s Bayport and Barbours Cut container terminals have been closed as the result of the hardware failure that began at 7 a.m. Tuesday.

The port told customers the hardware failure wasn’t related to a cyberattack.

McCarthy Construction Cos. has been awarded three projects to help handle growing cargo volumes on the Texas Gulf Coast.

“The demand is still here, the demand is growing, ships are getting bigger,” says Port Houston Executive Director Roger Guenther.
