The Embraer E190 cargo jet is getting closer to commercial service after Brazil’s aviation authority signed off on the passenger-to-freighter conversion plan.

Boeing landed some freighter contracts at the big Farnborough air show but wasn’t the only manufacturer making sales on the cargo front.

Boeing is more optimistic about demand for air cargo over the next 20 years, which is why it forecasts a need for 540 more freighters than competitor Airbus.
