FedEx Corp. announced a strategic alliance with Nimble Robotics on Thursday to scale FedEx Fulfillment with Nimble’s fully autonomous 3PL model.
San Francisco Bay Area-based Nimble Robotics has now raised a total of $115 million to help reduce warehouse size by up to 75%.
As fulfilment operations evolve to meet fast-shipping demands of e-commerce, robotics has become the default option to increase throughput.
“Nimble is a plug and play solution and has repeatedly demonstrated that its robot systems can be integrated and picking in production on day one without changing a single line of code in the warehouse management system,” said Michael Pucker, chairman and CEO of DNS Capital.
