Ten trucks participated in NACFE’s Run on Less Regional event, showcasing the fuel efficiency opportunity that awaits regional haul fleets. The trucks achieved an overall 8.3 miles per gallon during the 18-day event, far ahead of the national fleet average of about 6 mpg for regional trucks, Mike Roeth, executive director of NACFE, said.
The International Roadcheck inspection blitz kicked off earlier this week in North America, but some U.S. truckers reported that scale houses in some states were closed or they were waved through the scales because inspectors were busy reviewing other commercial vehicles.
