An aging workforce and President Trump’s tariff policies are steering companies toward adopting more technologies that optimize workflows as well as health and safety.
Fleet telematics provider Samsara Inc. (NYSE: IOT) filed suit against rival Motive Technologies in federal court Wednesday, alleging Motive, formerly KeepTruckin, copied and used its proprietary technology and engaged in false and misleading advertising.
“We are experiencing rapid growth across different customer segments and verticals, and more and more companies from non-trucking industries are asking to use our products. We believe that as we are entering our next phase of growth, the time is right to implement this change,” said Motive CEO Shoaib Makani.
KeepTruckin is petitioning the National Transportation Safety Board to rescind its recommendation that the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration remove the company’s logging devices from its list of self-certified vendors following a fiery crash that killed seven motorcyclists.
