TIA BECOMES FIATA MEMBER
The Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA), the leading trade association of third-party logistics professionals, has become the official United States member of FIATA, the International Federation of Freight Forwarder Associations.
TIA is the only organization in North America representing transportation intermediaries of all disciplines doing business in domestic and international commerce. Members of TIA include freight brokers, ocean transportation intermediaries, domestic forwarders, intermodal marketing companies, refrigerated brokers, air forwarders, logistics management companies, motor carriers, and warehouses.
FIATA, based in Switzerland, currently has 125 members in 90 countries, representing more than 40,000 companies.
“From its inception, TIA has sought to be the organization for third party logistics professionals in North America. Our strength has always been that of a network; with FIATA, this will broaden our network globally,” said TIA Executive Director and CEO, Robert A. Voltmann.
Christopher J. Gillespie, immediate past president of FIATA said, “FIATA is hopeful and confident that the new national association member for the USA will become an active participant in our federation and that TIA, by virtue of its diverse membership and broad-based support within the U.S., will provide FIATA with a strong voice in the marketplace.”
