TIBBETT & BRITTEN LANDS KMART LOGISTICS DEAL
Tibbett & Britten, a London-based logistics provider, has won a contract from Kmart Corp., the U.S. discount retailer, to take over and operate Kmart’s regional distribution centers in North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
The sites employ 1,200 people and have a combined warehouse area of 3.7 million square feet.
Tibbett & Britten’s chairman, John Harvey, pointed to “strong momentum in our rapidly expanding North American operations.” His company also provides logistics services in the United States for Safeway Inc., Kroger Co., and Wal-Mart Stores Inc.
