Tiger Cool Express continues to expand

New resources help company grow fleet for perishables.

Refrigerated intermodal provider Tiger Cool Express has added another investor and new equipment for its fleet, the company announced in a statement Tuesday.
Wood Creek Capital Management has purchased a stake in Tiger Cool Express to support its expansion. The company said it now will have the capital to acquire an additional 300 refrigerated 53-foot domestic containers, on top of the 200 it ordered in February from a Chinese manufacturer. Tiger Cool expects to have about 735 containers in its fleet by the end of the year.
“We originally met the Tiger Cool Express management team when we financed their start-up 200 containers through our ownership in Quest Capital Group,” said Jon Rotolo, president and co-founder of Wood Creek Capital. “We have been impressed with what we’ve seen and wanted to be more of a partner than supplier. We’re excited to provide capital and additional equipment to support their growth.”
