TIM RHEIN TO GIVE UP EXECUTIVE ROLE AT APL
Tim Rhein, the long-time senior executive of APL, will give up his position as chief executive of APL Logistics.
The company expects to announce the appointment of a new chief executive at APL Logistics soon.
Rhein also gave up his role as CEO of APL, of which APL Logistics is part, during a management reshuffle last October. He was replaced by Flemming Jacobs, the president and CEO of the Neptune Orient Lines group, the parent company of APL.
The announcement represents the end of day-to-day senior management responsibility at APL for Rhein, an industry veteran.
Rhein will remain chairman of American President Lines, the group subsidiary responsible for U.S.-flag ships.
He will also continue to be a director of NOL and will maintain overall responsibility for U.S. government affairs, the company said.
