TMW buys Appian
TMW Systems has acquired privately held Appian Logistics Software, with offices in Oklahoma City.
The addition of Appian expands TMW's presence in logistics planning and transportation management for third-party logistics services, dedicated logistics operators, courier services and private fleets operating in retail, food and beverage distribution and restaurant supply markets.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
David Wangler, TMW's president and chief executive officer, said Appian's Direct Route software enables his company to offer last-mile routing and scheduling optimization.
'We already serve many customers jointly with Appian and together we work with at least 21 of the top 25 dedicated carriers in the United States,' he said. 'As with our previous acquisitions, we will continue to develop, support and sell the entire Appian product line to protect our customers' technology investments.'
Cleveland-based TMW provides enterprise transportation software, including TL2000, TruckMate, Innovative IES and TMWSuite. The company also has offices in Dallas; Indianapolis; Nashville, Tenn.; Oklahoma City; Raleigh, N.C.; and Vancouver, and serves more than 1,800 customers managing more than 500,000 power units and maintaining more than 1.7 million assets worldwide, including North America, Europe, China and Latin America.
