Tradepoint Atlantic, a 3,100-acre multimodal industrial site in Baltimore, entered into a 10-year agreement with Host Terminals to oversee the vast majority of marine cargo operations, the companies said.
Tradepoint Atlantic and Host Terminals will put forth a combined investment of $30 million toward infrastructure improvements at the site. The investment will go towards lighting, paving, security upgrades and new equipment, a Host spokesperson told American Shipper in an e-mailed statement.
Tradepoint Atlantic features four berths, over 1,000 acres that is dedicated to marine storage space, and has connections to Class I railways CSX and Norfolk Southern.
The complex also has the largest private rail yard on the East Coast, with over 100 miles of short-line rail on-site.
In 2016, Atlantic Forest Products signed a long-term lease at Tradepoint Atlantic, and Pasha began receiving and processing automobiles at the complex.
