TRANS-I STARTS APPLICATION FOR OCEAN CARRIERS

Trans-i Technologies, a Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based software provider, has introduced a Java-based Internet shipping management system.

The TranSHIP Java application provides an efficient system for growing businesses and centralizing offices, the company said. It added that organizations using the application “can create collaborative networks that can be accessed anytime, anywhere by their customers, employees and suppliers.”

The system operates using a standard e-business model and accesses a centralized global database to provide carriers with integrated modules, including customer relationship management, quotes, bookings, documentation, equipment control, intermodal, maintenance and repair, and accounts receivable.

Trans-i Technologies said that ocean carriers have multiple databases worldwide that do not replicate each other, and they are not able to provide true “real-time” information to customers for tracking and exception alerts.
