Acquiring Greensboro, N.C.-based M33, which specializes in logistics for the packaging, chemical and advanced materials sectors, will expand Transplace’s reach into other sectors and geographical regions.
Transplace, a $1.6 billion non-asset based logistics service provider, has acquired M33 Integrated, the company announced Thursday.
M33 Integrated, based in Greensboro, N.C., specializes in logistics for the packaging, chemical and advanced materials sectors, expanding Transplace’s reach into other sectors and geographical regions.
Both companies rely heavily on technology to match shippers and motor carriers under long-term contracts, as well as sport market needs, and manage the transportation on a daily basis.
M33 Integrated’s Greensboro, N.C. operations center and Greenville, S.C. technology center will become the Transplace Southeastern Center of Excellence, and will operate as part of the company’s Transportation Management business, which is led by President Frank McGuigan.
“M33 Integrated brings a strong management team, robust technology solutions and an excellent customer base, particularly within the growing flexible packaging industry, that are complementary to Transplace’s capabilities,” said Transplace CEO Tom Sanderson. “The addition of M33 Integrated complements Transplace’s current geographical footprint and deepens our middle market penetration, as well as expands on the company’s vision to deliver outstanding value to all North American shippers.”
Transplace is owned by Greenbriar Equity Group. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
