Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Transplace said the acquisition strengthens its presence throughout North America, and further supports its commitments to strategic growth in order to meet the supply chain needs of its growing customer base.
Over the years, Transplace has been strengthening its footprint in Canada. In 2012, the company acquired Canadian third-party logistics provider Torus Freight Systems, and in 2014, it opened offices in Calgary and Montreal.
“The addition of Lakeside Logistics complements Transplace’s current geographical footprint as well as the company’s mission to deliver outstanding transportation management, intermodal, brokerage, and cross-border trade management services to shippers across North America,” Transplace CEO Tom Sanderson said.
