TRANSROLL ENTERS SLOT EXCHANGE IN SOUTH AMERICA
Transroll Navegacao S.A. will expand its East Coast of South America
services through a slot-exchange agreement with service newcomer Docenave.
Transroll already operates two container/roll-on, roll-off vessels on
its established Mercosul "Sea-Bridge" service linking Brazil, Argentina and
Uruguay. Calls north of Salvador will be covered by two 1,200-TEU
containerships chartered by bulkship operator Docenave.
Frequencies will be increased to every nine days, compared with every 15
days on Transroll’s existing service.
Transroll’s two vessels will call Zarate, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Rio
Grande, Rio de Janeiro, Vitoria (optional call), Salvador, Santos and Sao
Francisco do Sul.
Docenave’s vessels, chartered from Brazilian carrier Frota Oceanica e
Amazonica, will call Rio Grande, Sao Francisco, Santos, Recife, Cabedelo,
Fortaleza, Maceio, Salvador and Santos.
