As commissioner of the International Trade Commission (ITC), Amy Karpel would serve out the remainder of F. Scott Kieff’s term, which was set to run until June 16, 2020, but Kieff left the ITC June 30, 2017.
President Donald Trump intends to nominate Amy Karpel to serve as a commissioner on the International Trade Commission (ITC), the White House announced Feb. 23.
Karpel would serve out the remainder of F. Scott Kieff’s term, which was set to run until June 16, 2020, but Kieff left the ITC June 30, 2017.
Karpel was the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative’s (USTR’s) chief counsel for negotiations, legislation, and administrative law from October 2012 until February 2017. Prior to that, she worked as USTR director of environment and natural resources from January 2011 until October 2012, and as USTR associate general counsel from April 2004 until January 2011.
Karpel also represented U.S. workers and producers in trade remedy proceedings as an associate attorney at Stewart and Stewart law firm from May 1998 until April 2004.
