TTX hires Schinelli as CIO

   TTX Co. Tuesday said it has named Bruce G. Schinelli vice president and chief information officer, effective Oct. 1.

   Schinelli has been vice president of rail systems for Wachovia Corp./First Union Rail, where he was responsible for the strategic development of the computer systems for several of the businesses within Wachovia, including their railroad fleet. He will replace John Braly, who retired July 31.

   Owned by North America’s nine largest railroad, TTX owns and operates a free-running pool of more than 210,000 intermodal, automotive and other general units for the rail industry. The equipment is available for use by any carrier at a daily rental charge.
