U.S DOT DEVELOPS ONLINE PAYMENT SITE
U.S. Department of Transportation staff in Washington and Oklahoma City have developed what the DOT calls the first federal government online payment site.
The web site, called Do It Yourself ( http://div.dot.gov ) allows DOT customers to fill out forms online and pay immediately using a credit card.
The web site eliminates errors due to multiple data handling, speeds payment processing and product or service delivery and avoids forms and checks from being misplaced or stolen.
