U.S. STATE DEPARTMENT’S SHIPPING COORDINATING COMMITTEE TO HOLD MAY MEETING
The U.S. State Department’s Shipping Coordinating Committee has scheduled a meeting on May 11 to prepare for the 72nd Session of the Maritime Safety Committee at the International Maritime Organization’s headquarters in London, May 17-26.
Topics to be discussed include bulk shipping safety; human role in shipping; piracy and armed against vessels; and seven subcommittee reports covering training and watchkeeping; radio communications; navigation safety; dangerous goods transport; fire protection; and ship design and equipment.
